Weekend self-care open thread—The Marvelous Marvin Gaye

Weekend self-care open thread—The Marvelous Marvin Gaye

As a child growing up in New York City, it’s safe to say I was exposed to all sorts of music—rock, pop, jazz, funk, classical, soul. Thus the wide ranging nature of my weekend self-care open threads.

I was watching some music documentaries on my Friday off, and one of the films had Marvin Gaye’s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.” And I knew who this weekend’s self-care thread would be about.

Settle in and and attend to Brother Marvin. He went for Motown crooner to social activist, to romantic balladeer, all in one career. And he was taken from us much too soon.

And to close, the National Anthem.

Be good, be kind, take care of yourselves and others.
