Weekend self-care open thread—Adagios

Weekend self-care open thread—Adagios

The other night I was listening to SiriusXM, and Maurice Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G came on. I hadn’t listened to it in a while, so it was almost like hearing it anew. And then I remembered why I loved it so much: the adagio.

Ever since I heard Samuel Barber’s “Adagio for Strings” as a young pup, I’ve been a sucker for slow movements. They express my inherent melancholy, but with an inner strength. So for today’s open thread, a few of my favorite adagios.

Stay frosty, everyone. Take care of yourselves, and those around you.
