A message to those who got us in this place
It's amazing. We had a flawed but basically functioning state before November of last year. Then a confluence of events and actions saddled us with a kleptocratic, moronic, intellectually incurious, sociopathic man as president.
The past two days prove everything all of us were saying on this blog and elsewhere about why Donald Trump was unfit to serve. But white people felt culturally anxious about changes in a country which they felt harmed them. And purity jerks on the left trotted out their tried and true "both sides are the same" bullshit to vote for Jill Stein. And upwards of 90 million voters didn't bother to even go to the polls. They have all wrought what we're living through today.
So to them, this little missive:
I have left the place of sadness and regret and have assumed a seething anger, a nuclear fusion reaction of ire which won't leave even after we get rid of the orange monstrosity and his cabal. This isn't a joke. People's lives are being impacted because of the electorate's malfeasance. Our relations with other countries are being burned to ashes. All because enough people like Susan Sarandon said "How bad could it be? He seems better than warhawk Hillary!" If we as citizens don't take up our duties as such with seriousness and attention, men like Trump will keep cropping up, because they prey on the stupid and apathetic.
