Jill Stein's—and Bernie Sanders'?—turn in the barrel
Yesterday news broke that Jill Stein's presidential campaign was under scrutiny by the Senate intelligence committee for links with Russia. The committee demanded documents—documents which Stein defiantly said she'd also release publicly. (Careful, Jill. Mueller probably knows everything already.) So now Moscow Jill is in the crosshairs.
But what Richard Burr, chair of the committee, said was interesting. They were looking at TWO campaigns, one of which was Stein's. Who could that other campaign be, I wonder? Since it beggars belief that the committee thinks Hillary Clinton conspired to shaft herself, Bernie Sanders' campaign is the only one left.
I'll have a piece up soon about what Vladimir Putin's game was in meddling in our election. But the sad fact of it is that this country is full of useful idiots. From Donald Trump to Stein to Sanders, they were all primed to wittingly or unwittingly do Putin's bidding. However, as I keep saying: Trump won't be forever. Then woe betide Putin when the next US president assumes office and works to restore US prestige in the world. Dealing with Russia will be the first order of business.
