Mid-week good news break
Well, this morning has been nothing but a shit-show, pardon my language. Donald Trump retweeted racist, anti-Muslim videos. Yet another anti-Hillary journalist has been outed as a sexually harassing creep. Trump again threatens nuclear war. And it's barely about to be lunchtime on the East coast.
However, did you know:
This 22-year-old has just made history as the first woman with Down syndrome to ever compete in the Miss Minnesota USA pageant.
And did you know:
Researchers have used origami to create flexible robotic muscles strong enough to lift up to 1,000 times their own weight. Subtle as well as strong, they could be used to deliver medicine, create exoskeletons and even explore space.
Both of these stories are from Good News Network. I was seeking out stories which don't make the mainstream press because, quite frankly, they don't bleed. I stumbled on this site, and it has been a balm for the past few days. It's a necessary palliative to the darkness in which we live to realize there's still a world of light out there. It's beyond enervating that we have to actively seek it out, rather than be bathed in it. But such is humanity.
Take a break today. Seek out the good. Your soul needs it.
