That's not news!

Morgan Freeman had some choice words the other day:
In a sit-down on Friday's Piers Morgan Tonight, the Oscar-winning actor referred to the right-wing political movement as "a racist thing" for their efforts to boot President Barack Obama from office.

"Their stated policy, publicly stated, is to do whatever it takes to see to it that Obama only serves one term," Freeman said. "What underlines that? 'Screw the country. We're going to do whatever we can to get this black man outta here.'"
We know it; Obama knows it. The Bagger Republicans just don't yet understand that it is not working in their favor. They're on the wrong side of history and the more they wear their hate on their sleeve, the more *ahem* exclusive the Republican party becomes. And the more ammo delivered to Obama for opening up a can of whoop ass, say for example, in his speech to the CBC.

Oh yeah...it is on! If they want to make it a race thang, Obama is so up to the challenge. And here's a newsflash for all our vanilla suburb friends: You really are outnumbered. Get over it. You may be noisy, but you are not a majority. People with love in their hearts and appreciation for cultural diversity are. And we're here to kick your hater ass and take the future. Because it's ours.

Better still, it's being taken right out from under your nose, because you refuse to look around you and accept that the world has changed. I know you desperately want to accuse Freeman and Obama of "playing the race card" right now and you know what? You're right; it's just not the card you think it is. It's the "race card" of shared experience. It's the race card of a history of struggle. It's the card of fighting over 100 years to be granted the full legal rights of citizenship.

It's the race card of having survived the worst people could do and it's going to trump your ass to kingdom come.

Listen to his speech to the CBC. Listen to his interview on BET tonight at 7:30 EST.
In his first interview with BET News since the economic crisis, President Barack Obama will address issues weighing heavily on the minds of African-Americans. BET News travels to the White House to get the President’s take on Black unemployment, the economy, and The American Jobs Act.

Notice how he's speaking directly to the CBC? Notice how he's giving interviews directly to African American media? Unfiltered calls to action and dialogues presented to people who suffer absolutely no illusions as to the racial dynamics at play? Hell, he's throwing the whole damn deck at the haters.
