Weekend self-care open thread, part 2—Taking care of your body
Our self-care threads usually focus on mind and spirit. And by "usually", I mean, "well, always".
However, we've scandalously ignored what we all live with: our bodies.
Your friendly neighborhood blog-runner has had a sobering result from his lab work. Don't worry, I'm not shuffling off this mortal coil just yet. But I realize that I have to make some changes. And part of those changes involve what I put in my body to nourish it. I can't do much for the Resistance if I'm decaying from the inside out.
So for part 2 of our self-care weekend, some healthy cooking ideas. Healthy cooking doesn't have to be hard, or expensive, or onerous. Making a ritual out of cooking to nourish the bodies and minds of you and your loved ones is one of the deepest rituals in which a human can engage.
