Weekend self care open thread—1980s ska

One of the great things about growing up in New York City and Los Angeles prior to the internet—rather than in Boise or Des Moines—is that usually we were on the forefront of musical trends. We heard all of the cool bands coming out of the UK long before our brethren in fly-over country did. It's hard for kids these days to accept that not so long ago the world was really not that interconnected.

One of my favorite genres growing up was ska music, a melding of reggae and rock, but still leaning more on the reggae side of things.

For this weekend's self care thread, some of my favorite ska numbers.

As always, take care of yourselves, and others.
