Well! It's been an exciting 12+ hours!

As anyone who read my piece from yesterday, I was a bit down in the dumps. The weight of the kakistocracy under which we are laboring had finally weighed me down.

But, God, in Her infinite wisdom, threw me a few bones.

First, the James Comey memos were released to Congress, and then promptly leaked. And they showed... exactly what Comey has testified to and written in his book. If anything, the headline was about Vladimir Putin telling Donald Trump that Russia has the most beautiful prostitutes in the world.

It was such a colossal backfiring that a '76 Ford Pinto couldn't match it. If Devin Nunes leaked them without reading them, then this just confirms him as a moronic fuckmuppet. If it was the Democrats, well, turn about is fair play. But either way, the demand by Nunes, Goodlatte, and Gowdy for the Department of Justice to turn over the memos was nothing short of idiotic. They're such choads that they actually thought the memos would contradict Comey's public statements. As I've said before, the fact that the putschists we're fighting are such crass morons gives us a leg up in resistance.

Then, this morning, the Democratic Party unleashed the Kraken, filing suit against everyone and their mother over email hacking.

The Democratic National Committee filed a multimillion-dollar lawsuit Friday against the Russian government, the Trump campaign and the WikiLeaks organization alleging a far-reaching conspiracy to disrupt the 2016 campaign and tilt the election to Donald Trump.

The complaint, filed in federal district court in Manhattan, alleges that top Trump campaign officials conspired with the Russian government and its military spy agency to hurt Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and help Trump by hacking the computer networks of the Democratic Party and disseminating stolen material found there.

While I'm sure the party hopes to win the suit, the more immediate goal is to get discovery. And if the past year and a half have shown anything, it's that courts are unlikely to dismiss the suit in deference to Trump's ill-gotten position. This is a major turn of the tale, as the DNC takes action against the actors which stole an election.

So as we go into the weekend, a passel of good news to lead us into it.
