Friday open thread—Malala

I'm not going to write about Donald Trump's puerile Twitter eruption against James Comey.

I'm not going to write about the rumors of him fathering children with all and sundry.

I'm not going to write about Donald Trump.

I'm up to here with him. We've gone from Barack Obama, a man of the utmost moral rectitude, to this beast, this abomination.

Millions of people who voted for him will have much to atone for when they stand in the dock of history. I may forgive, but I will never forget how easily they chose a moral reprobate, just because he fed their fears.

Instead, today's open thread will focus on a remarkable young woman, who faced real calamities, not the imagined ones under which Trump voters labor.

This is Malala Yousafzai's Nobel acceptance speech. After the dross and dreck of this week, we need to remember the best of humanity.

This is your open thread.
