It's finally here. The day we send Donald Trump on the road to his final bankruptcy. The day we continue the work begun by Barack Obama. The day Hillary Clinton wins a mandate in the face of the GOP, the Russians, Wikileaks, the media, and the FBI. It's a glorious day. It's a day where we tell those who want to take the country back to the dark ages "No. We've fought too hard, sacrificed too much. We won't go back."
Take a moment to reflect. Take a moment to ponder the miracle that is this democracy. Is it perfect? Of course not. Nothing made by humans ever is. But for two centuries power has passed peacefully from one man to another, with no coups, no military interventions. And now it's about to pass from the first black man to the first woman. While we can rightly criticize the country's many failings, this isn't one of them.
And so, welcome to TPV's election day coverage. To start off, in case you missed it, a replay of last night's final Clinton rally in Philadelphia.
And because I promised our fierce abuelita Aquagranny, some appropriate Neil Diamond.
Have at it.
